how much do i love the first one
oh my god
i keep telling myself i’m going to stop doing big comments on things i reblog because who cares but this one… i am honestly tearing up right now thinking about this so i have to and maybe i should just do it in tags like a normal tumblr person but i am not going to oh well
the doctor asks “is that alright” and rose says “yeah” and his question is so sincere and her response is so immediate and i am so in love with them, the both of them, my beautiful idiots, there is a reason eccleston is my favourite doctor. he’s so NEW, so brand new and unsure and she’s so brave and good, terrified but drawn to him and no she doesn’t get it yet, not really, because bigger on the inside and alien but yeah, it’s alright, because already, instinctively, she trusts him, and it’s okay.
her work just got blown up, her boyfriend just turned out to be a shop window dummy and then tried to kill her and some madman with a box just told her he’s an alien and she just rolls with it.
i especially love this contrasted with the others- because our first introduction to donna, she’s already inside the tardis and her mind still doesn’t go to “alien” first thing. likewise for amy, he fell out of the sky and told her his magic box had a swimming pool and ate fish fingers and custard and somehow, “alien” isn’t the first answer. martha is ON THE MOON and SURROUNDED BY ALIENS and still doubts him when he implies that he isn’t human.
but rose is just like “alien? okay.” she’s the youngest of the four of them, she’s just a girl working in a shop and living with her mum and she isn’t clever or special except for all of the ways in which she really, really is. i just love rose tyler- and how could he not do likewise? how could that have gone any other way?
